Statute Regarding Accessibility: Title 20, Chap. 14, Section 20-14-304 (1999)

Locations Allowed: The public streets, highways, sidewalks, walkways, public buildings,
public facilities, and other public places, all common carriers, other public conveyances or
modes of transportation, whether by air, land, water, all hotels, motels, lodging places,
housing accommodations, other places of public accommodations, amusement, resort, and
all other places to which the general public is invited.

Statute Regarding Interference: 20-14-302 (1947)

Interference Includes:
Any person, firm or corporation, or the agent of any person, firm, or corporation, who
denies or interferes with the admittance to or enjoyment of public facilities by a visually
handicapped, hearing impaired, or other physically handicapped person or otherwise
interferes with the rights of a visually handicapped, hearing impaired, or other physically
handicapped person.

Statute Regarding Housing: 20-14-304 (1999)

Housing Includes: all houding accommodations.

White Cane Law Statute: 20-14-306 (1973)

Killing or Injury to Dog: 20-14-304 (1999) Any person who, without just cause, purposely
kills or injures any service animal is guilty of a Class D felony and shall make restitution to
the owner of the animal.

Penalties for Interference: Shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Summary of Law: Arkansas law guarantees a blind, deaf or physically disabled person has
the legal right to be accompanied by a specially trained dog in the areas of housing,
employment and the use of public accommodations and on all common carriers. No extra
charge can be levied because of the dog's presence, but the dog user is liable for any
damage the dog might cause to the premises.
