| State Has Laws Regarding: Guide: Yes Hearing: Yes Service: Yes Statute Regarding Accessibility: Title 11, Chapter 76, section 11.76.130 (1998) Criminal Law Locations Allowed: Full and free pedestrian use of a street, highway, sidewalk, walkway, or other thoroughfare and privileges of all common carriers, places of public accommodation, or other places to which the general public is invited, subject only to the conditions and limitations established by law and applicable alike to all persons. Statute Regarding Interference: 11.76.130 (1998) Interference Includes: A person intentionally prevents or restricts the enjoyment of the public facilities in locations listed above Trainers Allowed With Dogs: 11.76.133 (1998) Trainers Requirements: Give reasonable evidence of being a person authorized to train service animals employed by, or serving as a volunteer with, a school, agency, or other facility that trains service animals; Accompanied by a dog means wearing a device or exhibiting an insignia approved by a school, agency, or other facility that trains service animals that identifies the animal as being in training to be a service animal; White Cane Law Statute: 09.65.150 (1988) Penalties For Interference: Is guilty of a misdemeanor Summary of Law: Alaska law guarantees a blind, deaf, or physically disabled person or trainer has the right to be accompanied by a certified service animal in all public accomodations and on all common carriers. No extra charge can be levied because of the dog's presence, but the dog user is liable for any damage the dog might cause to the premises. |
